Guardian Angels Animal Care & Rescue Newsletter
Well, If the rest of this New Year (2006) will be anything like the first 3 months (Jan., Feb. March), then I pray that God will somehow intervene in our rescue mission
by enabling us to somehow obtain a bigger facility for all of these Fury Creatures of God.
So, since we haven't heard from "Oprah's Angel" network we've had to "Wing" it on our own, which hasn't been easy.
We are just a small group of people who volunteer our time & money because we believe that animals deserve protection against the wrongs of abandonment, starvation, disease & cruelty.
This is the tragic reality of life for countless innocent creatures.
Unfortunately, because of the large volume of calls that we receive regarding feral cats & kittens, we have a hard time keeping up with the demand.
Many of the people who call on us for help feel that it is our responsibility to take care of this & even bear all of the expenses that is involved as well.
This is where donations help us with the spaying & neutering for each one of them.
I personally have had to come out of retirement to take on a part-time job to help with the enormous expenses involved in caring for them, which has now taken away some of my valuable time from rescuing & caring for them.
I have even gone so far as to mortgage my home in order to have my garage remodeled & heated so that they could have a warm & safe place this past cold winter as they wait for their eternal destinations.
This has been by far the most devastating & heartfelt mission that we have had to endure. Even though we have rescued hundreds of cats & kittens there just never seems to be any end to this long line of homeless cats & kittens out there living under
someone's back porch, or in an abandoned car or building.
We recently found a situation gone hopelessly out of control in which I have had to remove over 30 cats & kittens from a 1 bedroom apartment in Elgin that all needed medical care. Plus, 3 of the female cats were already expecting yet another 3 litters of kittens. Plus, there are still more that need to be removed from that environment.
They say that "Hope Dies Last"-
So, as long as were all still breathing we're hoping that someday soon, we'll be able to have a big wonderful place where we can care for all of these animals & not have to turn any of them away. God only knows that we need a much bigger place than just our
garage if He wants us to continue our work. It breaks our hearts that we are unable to help all of them out there.
With the help of a wonderful volunteer, Jackie Davis who has started a fund raising recycling program for ink jet & laser cartridges for us, & we've been able to establish a building fund account with $77.52 raised so far.
I know it doesn't sound like a lot of money, but we believe in miracles, so if you have any you can either send them to Jackie or just drop them off in a big box that she has on her front porch at her house:

Were also in desperate need of volunteers & foster homes for cats & kittens while they wait to be adopted. We've started a Senior Foster Home program in which we place an older cat in a home with a senior. We provide everything that they need to care for their foster cat which includes taking them to the vet when needed. All they have to do is keep each other company. So far this program has been working out very well for both.
The work that we do is supported through donations from generous hearts of people like you so that we can continue our work in enabling that animals will never be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain. A few weeks ago I received a call from someone who had a stray cat in their garage & wanted it removed. So I set my trapper to catch it & brought it home. It was very afraid & I have to keep it in a cage until I can get it to a vet to be checked out, but every night when I sit & talk to it big tears roll down from it's eye's. I'm positive that this cat is crying.
Thank you for being part of this work of love with your kindness & generous support which brings new life to these animals in helping us in watching over them.
May God bless you for your great kindness.
